I also bought the blue dialled Monaco CW-2113 new from a dealer in Feb this year - it was a grail of mine and am very pleased with it, no problems at all - I got a good discount and an extra years warranty drom the dealer (3 years total) so couldn't resist!
I generally prefer vintage watches, but slightly prefer the look of the modern Monaco over the vintage one - not that I'd turn down a vintge one you understand! - Currently I'm considering a Cal 12 or Cal 15 Carrera....but that another story!
I hope you enjoy your Monaco as much as I'm enjoing mine. Wear it in good health.
best regards,

: Like others - I own various pieces from heuer, tag-heuer, omega and
: rolex. Most are chronographs. I prefer vintage watches, houses,
: cars etc vs. new. However, since I am not as well read or
: informed as others on this board I am always a bit leary of
: replaced parts and forgeries and fakes on purchases. After
: spending more than I should have for an A series Rolex Daytona
: & despite lusting after the vintage monaco's forever - I
: opted to buy a Tag Heuer automatic model CW-2113 new from a
: dealer last year for about $2400 and I love it. It may never
: appreciate and will likely depreciate like a rock - but I like
: it and wear it a lot. I have never had any problems with Tags or
: the Heuer's and only a few isssues with omegas (quartz not
: automatic movements).
: I personally prefer the Blue dial to the Gulf version but that is
: your choice. The Gulf version has its fans - buy the one you
: think looks best because that will give you your greatest return
: on investment.
: I'd suggest buying from a dealer so you have some recourse in the
: unlikely event of a problem. Have fun and let us know what you
: do!
