I have seen some e-mail chatter on the subject, and discussed it with one of the "regulars", but it seems like a worthwhile topic for discussion.
I will start the discussion by suggesting that the recent range of values seems to have been from approximately $4,000 (for a nice collection of parts or maybe a beaten up watch) to approximately $10,000 to $12,000 for the very best samples. I should add that I am aware of one sellin at the $10K level; no hard evidence of the $12K sample.
Looking at the one now offered on ebay,
I will add, for the record, that I do not intend to bid on this one (unless it could be purchased for something less than $7,000).
How do others see the value of this one?
