I have to say i think you're right, just like the EPL needs Liverpool to win next year!
No doubt it will spur Audi on, but to be fair any predictability in sport is a turn off for neutrals...
The Audi domination at LM had made the event go a bit stale as a spectacle a while back.
I wonder what people will be saying at the end of the F1 season? I really like Button and think it's great for teams to come out of nowhere, for whatever the reasons. Button especially for me has the image of someone who could wear a Heuer watch. I'm not sure he shoud be tying himself down with an albeit outstanding pretty GF (there 10 a penny anyways!) as i'd prefer to imagine him beating all comers on the track, necking some fine Tequilla gold and then going out a la Eddie Irvine and putting it about a bit, he's still young after all ;-)
However if he wins another 4 or 5 races will people switch off?

: Unlucky Audi, though 8 wins in 10 years is still a very impressive
: record.
: I think it's always healthy to have a different winner every now
: and again, no-one wants to see the same winner year after
: year... unless it's Ferrari or Bayern München, of course, then
: it's fine! ;D
