I started with the dashboard guys, through EBay, around 1998 . . . Rally Master pairs were selling between $800 and $1,200 for the decent pair.
It took me some time to get interested in the chronographs . . . maybe a couple of years. In terms of the models and versions, I didn't know enough to understand "which was which", but I remember that most of the automatic Autavias were selling in the $300 range. $400 seemed way too high; sometimes they sold for under $300.
I'm not sure that these were the good old days, but I tend to be happy, whatever day it happens to be!!
Thanks for posting this information.
