I am sure it's an oft repeated tale, and forgive my ignorance, but what is the story surrounding the use of the Monaco in Le Mans?
Much of the time in movies, decisions about such things as watches are made by directors. property masters, and (today) marketing executives.
Obviously, there are occasions where the actor makes his own decisions. Most recently, Orlando Bloom appeared in a GQ photo spread with a 'McQueen' Rolex Explorer II. The Rolex folks went nuts, and speculation about the origin of the watch was rampant. Most, including me, believed that the watch was a stylist's choice (as it so often is). Turns out, Bloom is a 'budding' (sorry!) collector and it was his watch.
So, I'd love to know the Le Mans story.
Thanks from a Heuer newbee.
