I have never explored the subject, but am told that there is a "middle path", between the FedEx / UPS channel (say, $200 for the express to Europe from the US), and the price of an airplane ticket, meals and perhaps hotel (say, $1,000 to $1,500 along the same route, not valuing the time in transit), and that is the "armored delivery" service. Here in the US, major armored couriers are companies like Brinks and Loomis . . . I am told that there are dealers who use these services for the high-end watches or collections of watches. For example, how does a dealer in Los Angeles take his $3 million of watches to the show in Miami? I am guessing that they are not in his carry-on or checked baggage, but taken by an armored delivery service.
