Our best expert here in the United States (also described (by David) as "The Master" or (by me) as "The Man on the Mountain"), has had a very quick look at the Dive Watch Reference Table, and is impressed with our work.
He was at Heuer while these watches were being produced, and he is likely to be willing and able to provide us with additional information. He referred to several dive watches that are not yet included iin the table (additions to the 844/x series); he is also able to tell us the correct movements for each of the watches in the table; he has other detailed information that is interesting, but may be beyond the scope of the Table (for example, the evolution of the screw-down crown systems).
So version 1.1 has been published; version 2.1 is already in the works.

: Hello all.
: This is to announce the latest addition to Jeff's On The Dash
: site - a reference table detailing the Heuer dive watches that
: came out in the period before the TAG takeover.
: There are watches in the 1000 and 2000 series that may not be
: covered, as they continued into the TAG-Heuer era but we carried
: on with the OTD focus of watches from before the latest
: ownership era.
: For those wanting to get straight into the table and not read
: all of my preamble(!), it can be found here:
: and also incorporated into the MOAT (Mother of All Tables) at:
: I personally think this is a great addition to OTD. Information on
: the divers was perhaps a little lacking there before and this is
: always an area that has stirred the interest of a number of
: collectors within the community and there are a number who
: consider divers their favourite Heuers. Of course, there is a
: lot of diversity within this range of watches, so to say divers
: are a favourite might be a little misleading - there is more
: diversity than I expected at the outset, to be honest, and some
: watches are quite unique within Heuer's output. Where else in
: the range will you find a bright orange dial, or one covered
: completely in lume material?
: I noticed an increase in interest in, and questions about, the
: various divers in the middle of last year (2009). This inspired
: me to go and create a spreadsheet of divers from those that
: appeared in catalogues and price lists, with the aim of creating
: a reference table for them. It was pretty obvious that my
: knowledge of divers would be far too vague to create a
: definitive table and we soon engaged with some people more
: expert in the field.
: The table then is a collaborative effort between these experts:
: Paul Gavin, David Chalmers, Jarl Rehn-Erichsen, Marius Jensen
: and Stewart Morley, all of who provided the bulk of the
: input for the table on details, differences and layout
: and myself, providing that initial input and experience of having
: gone through all this on the Carrera table and, of course, Jeff
: with his usual searching questions and putting the whole thing
: together on the OTD site.
: We hope that it's useful and enjoyable.
: But! I called it a definitive table above, but in our world of
: collecting that is quite possibly never true. What we would
: welcome now is your input to the table, whether that be
: comments, questions, photos, serial numbers and all the other
: suggestions and information that will help us build a great
: divers section on OTD.
: Contact details for the owners of the table are included on the
: linked pages above - first contacts are Paul Gavin and Jeff
: Stein, who (I am told) will welcome all your inputs. I too look
: forward to the influx of pics and threads concerning divers in
: the weeks and months to come; Jeff was even thinking of buying
: one to add to his collection!
: Now, go read!
