So its a beautiful summers day here in Melbourne, but it's hard not to wish that I was in cold, wet London....even when my boys are 1-0 down in the Ashes (there is truly no worse place to be than the UK when the English are beating us in anything)
Hard to believe that it was May 2008 when a group of us first met up in Switzerland- Arno, Jasper, Jan, Abel, Ron Maarten and Fabrizio. It truly was a great experience, not just because of the TAG Heuer hospitality, but because of the chance to turn a "virtual" hobby into something real and meet the people behind the screen names.
On behalf of all of us who can't be there, I hope that those going to the dinner have a truly great night tonight (its already Tuesday lunchtime here in the South) and enjoy the auction tomorrow.
To Arno and those bidding on the auction, best wishes for success- and I hope as many pieces as possible end up in the hands of those who will show the same passion for their new watches as Arno did in building the collection.
Enjoy and please have a drink or two for those of us watching on from the sidelines
