Lovely find Jeff,
was the seller aware that the watch had the higher rate 28800 beat motor or was it a bonus upon inspecting your new arrival?
I know that after your initial post a few months back where you identified these higher beat movements i felt the need to listen to my watches containing a Cal.11 movement to see if i had one lurking inside. Sadly NO !!
It does make me wonder if i have had one in my hands over the years and been unaware. Ahh - always more to learn about our Heuer's.
Cheers - Darren

-: Yet another new arrival . . . a Carrera 1153S, first execution
: of the production [after the Chronomatics], and this one has a
: difference . . . yes, it beats at 28,800 vph . . . powered by
: one of the prototype movements, tested by Heuer, but soon
: abandoned. soon, we will tell the story of these 28,800 vph
: movements.
: Serial Number on this is within 150 of Arno's Chronomatic . . .
: consistent with the histpry of Heuer experimenting with the
: higher beat movements, at the very beginning of the Cal 11 /
: Chronomatic program. Heuer gave up on these 28,800 movements,
: ceding this technological position to Zenith (and choosing to
: focus on the other problems that the Cal 11 was facing).
: in the meanwhile, with or without this rare movement, ain't it a
: pretty one!!
