Hi,
I assume you are referring to the orange on the subdial. Hmmmm... to me it seems difficult to restore unless you have the entire dial repainted. Something I would never have done as you will never get it in the same original state again. I personally wouldn't be disturbed too much by the fading since we are talking about a vintage piece where visable aging certainly is a part of the charm of owning such a great watch.
I personally have a nice black 2447 Carrera with great patina on the markers and hands...and... it is a unique piece which I like a lot. Have you ever seen the Danish Monacos owned by Jan and Peter? I think you can find them on the Paul gavin's Bonham photos on this Forum ( aroound December 15th). Have a look at these Viking Monacos! Gorgeous!
