It is a shame as the guy who owns it seems very genuine and had no reason to suspect it was not quite what it appeared to be when he purchased it.
As you say Jeff, research before you buy.

: Seller tells us from whom he bought the watch -- Sound of Time --
: and also assures us that the dial had been "expertly
: restored to its original specifications". What a shame . .
: . seller seems to believe that he has a genuine Heuer watch,
: refinished in its correct style, when --in fact -- he bought a
: fake some 15 months ago.
: Let the buyer beware; let the potential buyers do their research
: before making the purchases.
