Makes sense to have a watch for the wet stuff rather than taking a vintage risk, but that wouldn't be my choice.
Hands and markers look exaggerated to me, and "hand applied" is pure marketing guff - makes no difference how they are applied so long as they are aligned correctly. I like to see the date window framed too, it looks a bit cheap otherwise, unless the dial material merits its absence like mother of pearl for example.
