: Dean,
: Here is a list of what you would need to get one started:
: 1- Utility knife
: 2- Metal ruler
: 3- Hole punch set
: 4- Mallet
: 5- Leather cement
: 6- Your favorite leather
:
:
: Stitching is optional, unless you are going for a certain look. I
: do like padded straps and I don't care for flat ones, in fact
: all of the ones I make are padded.
: Most of the tools and materials can be found at an Arts and Crafts
: Store, in the US, Michaels, Hobby Lobby... but a junkyard is a
: great place to find good looking and great quality leather from
: BMW and Mercedes seats. Old handbags are great too, Coach,
: Dooney and Burke... great leather.
: They're very easy to make, it's just a matter of cutting, folding,
: gluing, pressing, trimming and hole punching.
: Here is a tutorial:
: Don't forget to post a picture of your first strap
: Good luck!
