You are correct, Jeff! Our Autavias look to me even more compelling now....It is stunning to see, decades later, how Heuer designer were conceding close to nothing to fancy forms and fashionable colors (always very well marketable!). Similar to the process of a rigorous architectural project of those years, design choices of these tool watches were leaning heavily toward functions and specific practical needs, such as racing requirements in this case...and it must be for this reason that I appreciate them so much!
What a Sunday afternoon...
Cheers,
Francesco
: When we start thinking about some of these "simple"
: questions, and doing the research into the history of our
: beloved Heuers, it is amazing what we might find. I had never
: thought of the rotating Tachymeter bezel either as being a Heuer
: innovation or as being unique to Heuer.
: This is just a theory / an explanation, and people may come forward
: with other examples of rotating Tachy bezels, etc., but -- at
: least for the moment -- I am happy to have found another unique
: aspect of our Autavias.
