The selling price for this Monaco reflects it's condition and is not an unusually high amount. i know of a number of similar condition Monacos that have been sold by dealers at arround this price over the last 2 years or so.
The Silverstone is wonderfully 70s thing, consequently it's attraction is limited to the more obsessive among us and i don't think it will ever have the kind of value a Monaco has even though there are repeated rumours of a re-edition. also there is the small matter of name, Monaco = small exotic sunny principality where F1s premier race takes place - Silverstone = Dull windsweapt muddy airfield.
That said a blue dial Silverstone is currently strapped to my wrist, strangely it has a dedication on it's back saying it was presented to someone who worked at Sandoz (defunct swiss watch making company) for 10 years service. strange that they should give out another watchmakers product and not their own.
