Unfortunately I can't find the original comparison pic on my hard drive, but I found these examples. As Jeff suggested in the original discussion: "count the teeth" - the top version of the bezel has 11 ridges; the bottom version has much more (hard to count exactly, but nearer 16-18)
I haven't done enough investigation to date the bezel types. But I believe there were two bezel sizes as well - if Par is reading this - I remember he explained about the bezel sizes to me - they are not interchangeable.
I'll post some 2446 pics tomorrow, a bit late now...
