Looks a lot like two cogs rotating in an orange box to me, unfortunately... Blogspot issues apparently.
If it's definitely 1969 and not '70 or '71, that's great for dating because we know exactly when that race took place - Sunday 7th September 1969. Shortly before I was born, in fact. And a celebrated race as it was the closest ever finish in F1 at the time, though the Monza GP in 1971 would be even closer, back before Monza was emasculated with chicanes.
So that would give us a date by which "Automatic Chronograph" marked dials were beginning to appear.
