It's possible Mick, but.. and it's a big but.. on reflection, if it were a personal engraving, I would expect a less 'restrictive/conservative' engraving/stamping.
Like I mentioned earlier, with the 'Swiss Market' markings on my GMT, it is in a very similar location, same size and style of markings, even if it doesn't follow the coding. If I really had to put money on it, I would surmise that those markings were made before being sold to a customer.
