Something went wrong with my post below, it got cut off.. so ignore that - this is the full post...
Well Lanny, when it comes to my pics, I'm afraid it's hit and miss.
I've said it a few times, I'm no photographer.. for proper advice you want to read up on the 'how to' from Paul Gavin.. http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=45730
But, my set up is a light tent, and two mini studio lights. I bought a kit on ebay for about £25. Comes with a light tent, x2 lights and a stand for the camera. I didn't say tripod, as it's got a squared off C shaped base, so not quite a tripod.
I hold a piece of black card in the desire position to stop/affect reflections on the glass. Oh, and my camera is a regular Panasonic Lumix point n shoot on macro. (the camera is fairly old, 7 MP, but has a good lens)
Then I take a lot of shots, and pick the best ones & adjust lighting/contrast/colours etc afterwards in photoshop.
This is similar to the kit I bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Portable-Photo-Studio-Tent-Set-Kit-2-lights-and-4-backgrounds-PHT3-/120857449663?pt=UK_Photography_StudioEquipment_RL&hash=item1c23aa54bf
I don't use the tent that comes with that kit - I use this type: (It folds away too): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-50-50-cm-photo-soft-box-light-tent-cube-softbox-/280728443563?pt=UK_Photography_StudioEquipment_RL&hash=item415cb81aab
So, my exact set up it the tent with one studio light either side of the tent - on the outside, pointing square at the tent - like this: light.. tent ..light
I take shots with both lights on, then I turn one off (usually the one that's behind the watch) & take a shot like that. I tend to take several shots from almost the same position (changing the camera angle very slightly), that way, you might get the angle you want with just the right amount of refection/light etc. For every half decent shot I take, there is probably 10 that get binned.
Of course, you can just get lucky - this shot was taken on the window still in the bathroom... as I just couldn't get a good shot in the light tent - sometimes it's like having a bad day, and I just can't get a shot, other days it's 10 shots all nailed perfectly, although that is the exception.
Hope that helps.
