No, there are no holes. Apart from the missing "tool 33" issue it looks authentic to me.The position of the baton prints is correct.
As mentioned before, an ex-Heuer Netherlands watchmaker- who saw the same photo says he recognizes it. He says they came like this without batons.He also said this watch is equipped with a 700-series Valjoux and was offered in the colours blue, black and grey.I will ask him whether he knows when they have been made and maybe has an ols catalogue.Maybe this was a version against a lower price?
I must admit loving the colour of the dial and the somewhat darker blue subdials. It gives different impressions depending of the angle of light ( like the cal 15 silver dial which I also have).

I agree with you that I would prefer it to have batons.

I hope to get more confirmations that it's original. So ,other Monaco experts, please share your views
