I've had a package delivered to a neighbour (which is not ideal... but he is a police officer ! ) & i've arranged for a package to be held for 1 week by the courier company because i was out of the country (in this case they charged me a small fee) BUT i've never had the courier service deliver to my bbq !
Personally i'd be releived but angry with the delivery service and definately file a complaint.
