Mecum sold the Penske L&M 917/10 for $5.5MM. For me this car was the epitome of great racing in the 70's.
The Can-Am series had some of my favorite racing vehicles and the history of this car is special.
Penske team owned, driven by Donohue and Follmer.
Highest price paid at auction for a Porsche.
Donohue was quoted as saying that it was the only car he had ever driven in which he could spin the tires at 200mph.
Can you imagine ?
