I'm with you on the strap and like what it does to the look of your Monaco!!
I think that the Monacos look great on the tan / brown straps. You are correct, that with these tick, wide straps, the Monaco begins to look like a smaller watch. These straps can "handle" the size and shape of the Monaco very well.
