David has done a posting on Calibre11.com, showing us TAG Heuer's first chronograph to be powered by the new Calibre 1969 movement. This is the first watch to be produced at TAG Heuer's new factory in Chenevez. So we have a lot of "firsts" here.

The "launch model" for the new movement is a rose gold and titanium Carrera, produced as a limited edition of 500 pieces. It is already available in retails channels, with the price set at around €10,500. David says that we can expect steel versions of the Carrera 1969 later in 2014, in the €6,000 to 7,000 range.
Interesting that, in December 2010, the Calibre 1887 was launched in a simple stainless steel model. I assume that the marketing types have determined that it is preferable to offer a special "launch model".
Impressions? How do we like the lay-out of the dial? Materials? Reactions? Hopes and dreams?
