Just my two cents but I completely agree with you Mark. I think the best way to keep the value, monetarily and historically is to find an original dial and have the McLaren text added. It would take some time but I think worth it no doubt. The caveat would be making sure that the text was added to the dial by somebody who really knows there stuff.
Anything else that it needs should be straight forward for any of the watchmakers within our community.
