Skipper 73464 and Skipper 73464 late - the details

Hi all,

just a little thought about the small difference of some Skipper 73464.

http://www.heuerchrono.com/heuer-skipper-2/new-type-of-skipper-73464/

Found 3 in cases, which are a little different to the first Valjoux Skipper - and marked with 73463 too.

Three differences seems clear:

- the different countdown register (color and numbers) on the dial
- the different cut out for the pushers
- the known serials are in a higher range than the other ones (289xxx and 290xxx) - the earlier Valjoux-Skipper have something with 262xxx-263xxx.

Now try to find out: What causes the different cases?
Heuer just want to make a late bunch of manual Skippers next to the 1564 (the serials of them are between early and late 73464)?

I found the comparision some time ago Paul did with the „Shauntavia“ and the Siffert. Same thing on the pushers cut out.

Maybe it is just explained with the different case manufactures Schmitz and Piquerez produced different styles similar to the 1163 discussion?

For the 1163 cases are some thoughts around...
Jeff pointed that out here for the Viceroys: http://www.onthedash.com/docs/CompareViceroys.shtml and Pier knows something about: http://chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?md=read;id=37008

Is there a time or bunch we know with that kind of cases or can we fix it on serials of other Valjoux Autavias?

All ideas are welcome.

Cheers
Henrik
