I'm wondering for the same reason the 1966 Chris Craft Commander came with a MEL 430, Ford 427, Chrysler 426B (it was due to necessity that year due to labor strikes in Detroit, etc., etc.). Sometimes they would even sneak a 427 sideoiler into the marine shop and sell it as a "regular" marine motor, odd, expensive, same power level, same compression, but very expensive oil routing internally for "race only", and just one of those strange things that happen during production and meeting delivery dates.

Since to date, there have been no other 25 jewel Spiros spotted, I'm still curious if this one came off the "assembly line" or if it has a movement from another Heuer, ETA or not.
