I am guessing that these watches are provided by a dealer, who sets the prices, with Hodinkee having the limited role of hosting / promoting the event. So we should not blame Bergdorf (or Hodinkee) for the pricing . . . probably set by this dealer (and with a little searching you may be able to find him).
