Hi Jeff,
As a member of early 911s registry, most members disclose our car's chassis & engine numbers & owner's names. They send out the car listing every year to members with such information. It deters scammers who try to manipulate there VIN because of the listing. In the vintage Heuer world, it would be a good idea if we collect the serial number along with photo and ower's name (if not too much trouble) in OTD's data base. Then only members can have access to the listing. We would be able to spot a fake one easier when we have a solid back up information.
Cheers,
Manus
