Like you, I happen to think of the Carrera as a chronograph. But then again, back in the '70s Mr. Jack Heuer was making non-chrono Carreras.
In my opinion, the 'Telemeter' would look much better in a smaller case. 39-40 mm.
I am afraid it's going to look just like the Jack Heuer model. Cross-eyed. And no, that one doesn't look any better in person, unless of course, you want it to.
What I find hard to believe is, the fact that they are still using that crappy movement. That piggyback is half disposable. I own 4 chronographs powered by the same movement, all in need of a chronograph module. Yes, you read it right, not one, but 4.
I was truly excited when they announced the Calibre 1969. It would have been nice to see a Carrera powered by a proper Bi or Tri-Compax layout movement. Sadly, it's back to the same old crap.
