The serial and reference numbers are between the opposite lugs on the 1153. They are very small on these models and in this position on the case can easily be worn away by a bracelet rubbing over the years or a polish. My 1153S has a barely legible serial, visible only with a strong loupe by the first light of Durin's day, and non existent model reference, removed most likely by a case polish.
