Re: Differences -- Autavia 1163MH and 1163V

:Jeff:

Do you or anyone know where to get bezels for old Heuers like the Autavia 1163 MH, for example? I have been looking at dealers, on line, etc. and have come up pretty empty. This seems like a business opportunity for somebody out there!

Tom
: George: Thanks for the interesting question. I
: will plan to do a full comparison of these
: two models, but here is a quick summary of
: the differences between 1163MH and 1163V
: (Viceroy). Most of the differences are clear
: in this photo of the 1163MH.

:

: MH has minutes / hours on the bezel (Viceroy
: has Tachy bezel) applied markers on MH are
: "ridged" (Viceroy has smooth
: markers, with white inserts) hands on MH are
: polished steel (Viceroy has brushed steel,
: with red inserts and tips) hour recorder on
: MH is marked 3-6-9-12 (Viceory has all 12
: numbers) MH was sold with beads of rice
: bracelet (Viceory came on a strap)
: The biggest difference was the price -- $200
: for the MH, sold in stores and the usual
: Heuer channels; $88 for the Viceroy, under
: the cigarette promotion). The promotion was
: very successful, with Heuer struggling to
: meet the demand for these $88 chronographs
: (and Heuer retailers struggling to explain
: why the MH sold at a $112 premium).

: I will plan to do comparison photos and a
: comparison table, but these are the basic
: points distinguishing the two watches.
