Jeff,
Thanks. As I suspected. There is a guy who has been specializing in old Rolex submariners parts, remaking bezels and case parts and the like. If we could only get him interested and feed him all the data on Heuers, we might have a solution. He is at http://www.restoration.itgo.com/
and I think I will prod him. No reason those Rolexes should get all the attention when there are other cool sports watches around!
Regards,
Tom
:
: Rotating bezels (on the Autavias, for example)
: are subjected to a lot of wear and tear.
: They are "exposed", in being the
: first surface to graze a doorpost or wall,
: and they are also handled a lot, if they are
: actually rotated to time events.
: That said, I have never seen a source for Heuer
: bezels, as such. From time to time, I have
: seen individual bezels or bezel inserts
: offered on a one-off basis, but I haven't
: seen any source that offers them on a
: regular basis.
: I'm certain that if someone were to produce
: good quality reproductions, there would be
: plenty of enthusiastic purchasers.
: Thanks for the question.
: Jeff
