We try our hardest to discover or develop explanations, but I expect that this will remain one of the unsolvable mysteries of the vintage Heuers. After so many years of consistent Autavia dials (from 1962 until around 1967), and the return to the normal style soon after, this change must have been intentional, but I am at a loss to explain what they were intending. Perhaps Singer was trying to show Heuer a fresher look? Or perhaps Heuer initiated the change?
