Some of you know that the community of vintage Heuer collectors has previously held “Summit” events, at TAG Heuer headquarters, for our collectors to socialize, admire each other’s watches, and share information with our colleagues at TAG Heuer.
Previous Summits were held in 2008 and 2013. Here are reports on the 2013 Summit: from OnTheDash -- HERE, and from Hodinkee -- HERE. And here a couple of items relating to the 2008 Summit: the recruiting message -- HERE, and a posting after the event -- HERE.
Of course, there is the wonderful photo from the 2013 Summit, shown at the bottom (with Laurent on the back row, in the blue shirt, eighth from the left).
As most of you know, since early 2015, there has been a new leadership team at TAG Heuer, with Jean-Claude Biver at the helm. Mr. Biver loves vintage watches and under his leadership we have seen exceptionally strong interest in the vintage Heuer watches (and the vintage Heuer community). We also have a new approach to the collectors Summit.
TAG Heuer will be hosting this 2016 Heuer Collectors Summit, with the full participation of its top leadership, including time with Mr. Biver and with Jack Heuer. TAG Heuer has developed the program for the event – which looks absolutely fantastic -- and has also extended the invitations to those who will be attending (with the number of participants being very limited). Having missed the two previous Summits, I am very excited to be attending this one!!
The Summit kicks off this Sunday afternoon, September 11, and continues through Tuesday afternoon, September 13. The TAG Heuer media team, and other invited media and bloggers, will be participating, so keep an eye out for postings. The hashtag will be #HeuerCollectorSummit, so you can follow the Summit on Twitter and Instagram. We also hope that participants and other enthusiasts will post messages on this discussion forum.
