I don't see someone that already owns one or multiple pieces spending this kind of money to inflate their collection value. I know a few folks who own these, and frankly, its not their style....plus what they own is in really nice shape. As for Jeff's dial comments, I agree. Once could buy a $7K Carrera and make it work. I think this was more on impulse. Someone wanted this watch and likely got caught-up in the auction given its rarity.
