It looks like the bezel went through a wood chipper or maybe the household blender or paper shredder . . . or perhaps a fighter pilot was banging it against the metal of the cockpit??
I have never seen anything like this bezel!! I will post some detailed photos soon.
In the meanwhile, we can simply admire the dial!! And ask the question how it possibly survived in such amazing condition!!
