I've got to be honest and say I don't doubt it, even with the picture quality and scratched up crystal. The only error for me is in the memory of purchase date ;)
I think what we're seeing is a dial affected by moisture and age is all, in my not very professional amateur opinion :)
There's been quite a few I've seen over the years with the crumbled edges of both lume and print, with this one from Jarl back in 2009 exhibiting the same sort of "patina" causing the print to look like a bad redial almost.
Just my 2 pence.
