My quick reaction -- Good quality re-issues, like this Breitling 806 1959, generate interest both in the brand and the specific model / execution that is re-issued. Look at the recent Ultraman and Hodinkee Speedmasters, and see what happened to the price of the originals. And, of course, there is the broader sense that Omega, Tudor and now Breitling have rich heritages / strong historic portfolios.

And, yes, this is another reason that vintage Heuer has been struggling recently. Other than the Fragment Carrera and a couple of Autavia LEs, what have we seen from TAG Heuer to generate interest in the vintage models? Hope springs eternal, and with the new management team and Basel ahead, let's hope for better things ahead.
