The bedrock is granite, one of which's natural decay products is radon. Occasionally a room in a house will build up to carcinogenic proportions but most of the time people are ok - that's with the entire underlying bedrock producing radon. So a watch will probably be ok - don't go sniffing them if you're a smoker though!
