Hello all. Total newbie here (not sure if I even posted the picture link correctly).

Howdy, I couldn't get it to work. No worry, I don't think it's necessary for this query...

My fiance's grandfather gave him this watch in the late 70's. Using this site, we found out it was an Autavia 11630. Somewhere in his teen years my finace lost the watchband. It's doesn't run but other than that *g* it's in nice shape. Chcuk suggested an expert watchmaker adn we're going to send it off.

Hans, she means you!

So the big question is, what band it came with the watch originally?

Depends on if it came with a Bracelet or a Strap. I recently put an original "Beads of Rice" Heuer bracelet on my 73663T, but that vintage band set me back a solid $240 or so off of eBay.

Should we try to buy a vintage band, replace it with a newer one, or try something else?

Well, you could try to find one. Like I said, they tend to be pricey, but can be found if you are patient. However, if you are looking for an economical and much more comfortable alternative, I'd suggest you get in touch with Ron Sabo at International Watchman, and ask him for one of his 20mm Flat endpiece Oyster Style bracelet's which run about $20 before shipping. I've put them on my 750.501-3 and my Montreal 7750 and it looks GREAT!

Be sure to ask them to include a catalog of their wares, Ron carries some incredible stuff!

Thanks in advance for your help! Cindy Oh, the watch was actually scaned with a scanner vice camera...sorry for the picture quality.

Couldn't get at the picture, so the quality was lost on me anyway! =)

Good Hunting!
