What i have leared with PVD ther are several other techniques along:

plating, anodic oxidation, PVD and CVD coatings, spray coatings, weld overlay, dipping and diffusion treatment

they all look different. re-done cases mostly have a very glosy look but no the poweder coating deep black finish of a vintage case....

However also glosy looks better than a used case...finally I would invest to be patent and wait till the watch in the right conditions comes along: 1-2 years ...
