rice bead strap question

I have removed as many links a I can to shorten the bracelet, anymore and the beads become too wide for the clasp to close properly. I really need to take out another bead on the other side of the bracelet, ie the right side as the watch is worn where it meets the clasp, having locked it I don't know even if this is possible. Can anyone help if this makes any sense?

Thanks in advance

A Hasloch
