Re: off(-ish) topic: 17 Jewels Rule

: One of the first lessons I learned from Jeff, a
: few years ago, was that any supposed Heuer
: watch with "17 Jewels" (or any
: number of Jewels) is at minimum a refinished
: dial, and at worst not a Heuer. It was an
: observation from Jeff that saved me alot of
: money (thanks again Jeff). Three or so years
: later I still haven't seen a Heuer that
: breaks this rule.

I have an "original " Heuer chrono valjoux 7734 that has a dial with written "incabloc 17 jewels".
Many important watchers told me that the dial is sure original and than the rule of Jeff isn't always good.
Regards
Giulio

: Not 100% sure on "antimagnetic"
: written on the dial, generally screams
: redial if it is purporting to be a Heuer,
: but I have seen some models from the 50s
: which might be correct with this
: inscription. Anyone have any views?

: Back to your camaro, I think we'll all agree
: the dial might concievably not be untouched
: original (LOL), but I agree also with Jeff
: that case and movement look correct. You
: should be able to find a camaro dial
: somewhere, I think they are not stupidly
: rare. Good luck.
