Chrono hands on Lemania 5100 Heuers

Dear all,

the offer of a "ultra NOS" Lemania 5100 Silverstone on the sibling Chronotrader forum has triggered a question in my mind: what is the right colour of the chrono hands of the watches with this calibre (510.50x, Carreras, Cortinas and Silvestones)?
Most of the watches seem to don orange hands, but the corresponding catalogue photos show an intense, even dark red. So I have often wondered if the original colour was red that gradually faded to orange.
However sometimes one gets to see NOS, NOS-like or, of course more seldom, even "ultra NOS" ones such as this Silverstone and they have orange hands. Some do not show any other discoloration at all in any other parts, e.g. the tritium is a very vivid and intense green, so I doubt this fading is due to aging.
My idea is still that the original colour should have been red, but as I have come to learn that catalogues do not always display the final version I'd like to get your opinion as well.
Thanks in advance.
Fabrizio
