David, fantastic find, would this be the car Steve drove in the opening scene or a car which was owned by Steve Mcqueen ?
It looks to be a long wheelbase B series car, hence Modelyear 1969. Is it a 2.0l or 2.2l ? The gold Porsche 911 S lettering on the back would possible make it a 1968 car.
Think the 911 Steve drove was frost blue if I remember correctly a Euro version. This car you have spotted has the US front lights, do you know if the car was shipped over to Le Mans converted and then shipped back ?
I always thought the car in the film Le Mans was a 1971 MY and given to the Film Crew by the Swiss Porsche dealer Jo Siffert who also provided and organised/prepared the Porsche 917/908 during filming.
Just really curious...
