The 1964 Carrera was much improved for the better from the pre-production version in my opinion.

And this does seem to be becoming more of a trend now, with watches appearing first as concepts, then as pre-production before finally being shown in production form. The Monaco LS is a perfect example of this, even if the time between each is unusually lonng in that instance!
