just wondering and i know this maybe something you have already tried but have you contacted the UK police for this matter?. I live in the UK and surely its a matter of theft or fraud if the guy has taken your money and not supplied the item, i dont know exactly what could be done or if the police could help but i could source the tel. number of the nearest police station to the sellers location - Yorkshire, if ebay could give you more details.

Just a thought.
