yes, ebay is the usual outlet for these, but they make there way into all the channels. A few days ago, we found one listed by a reputable Boston shop, at $6,000, and we discussed it on this forum . . . mismatch of case, movement and (awful) refinished dial.

. . . fortunately, that listing has been deleted, but I suspect that we will see the watch again. Throwing this one in the trash-can or parting it out might be the right thing to do . . . instead, it may get put back to a seller or customer who will try it again. The "delta" between $1,000 worth of parts and the $6,000 that might be received for the watch is just too tempting.
