i use two cheap light boxes i got from an online drafting site i think they were $18-19 each. they do a good job diffusing the light without overpowering, i also set up in my kitchen as i like this corner and the kitchen's flourescents help also.

i used to use two to three desk lamps and an opaque container with sheets of drafting paper taped to it(to diffuse basically a homemade light tent/box), but it was alot of work adjusting the watch and i was never that good anyway, so this works the best for me. quick setup & quick tear down.
